Alexei Kuvshinov
Privat-docent at the Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule (ETH), Zurich
(since 2007). PhD in physics and mathematics from IZMIRAN, Troitsk in
1986, and Dr. Sc. (Habilitation) from Moscow State University in 2004. Recent
research appointments include: visiting professor at the University of Tokyo,
Japan (2002, 2009), senior research scientist (2003-2006) at the Danish
National Space Centre, Copenhagen. He has been developing mathematical
approaches and software to simulate electromagnetic (EM) fields and
responses in spherical and Cartesian Earth's models with a three-dimensional
(3-D) distribution of electrical conductivity for a wide range of problems in
modern geoelectromagnetism. The most recent research is focused on the
development of 3-D EM inversion schemes to interpret global satellite and
ground-based induction data. Author or co-author of 47 scientific papers in
peer-reviewed journals.
