Joachim Linthe

Studied automatic control at the Technical University Dresden from 1968- 1972 and worked as a technologist in the industry. From 1976 onward scientistat the Adolf Schmidt Geomagnetic Observatory Niemegk and in 1986 he did his PhD. From 1997 onward Linthe became responsible for the Kp Index Service of the IAGA and from 1999 onward deputy head of the Adolf Schmidt Geomagnetic Observatory Niemegk. From 1999 to 2003 Linthe was vice chair of the IAGA Working Group V-OBS and chair of the IAGA Working Group V-OBS (2003- 2007). From 2003 Linthe became member of the INTERMAGNET Operational Committee.
